Today’s Food


About 2 home made Zucchini frittata.

Recipe: 8 eggs, 1 cup of extra light sour cream (whisk these two together), 2 large grated Zuchinni, 100g of diced ham or bacon, 1 onion, half a cup of extra light cheese, 2 – 3 tablespoons of parmesan. Mix together, put in muffin tins and bake in a 200c oven for about 15 – 20 minutes, you’ll get about 24.

I also had a cafe breakfast of fishcakes and poached eggs and a few bites of my sister’s potato gallette (absolutely devine) – I skipped the toasts and gave them to my nieces.

McDonald’s $5 Meal – Medium Coke Zero, A cheeseburger with extra tomato sauce, Medium fries and a Caramel Sundae

1 zucchini frittata


2 Thai fishcakes, 2 fish tofu, 2 Zucchini frittata, 6 squares of white chocolate, sugared peanuts

How I felt

I know, I know, I know, I don’t know what to say.  I will walk to work tomorrow…I’m just finding it hard to stay on track, I don’t know why?

Breakfast: Oat bran Porridge (made with water), fishcakes with dill cream and poached eggs, mocha

Lunch: 6 macarons (friend brought them from Melbourne for me

Dinner: 2 soft shelled crabs, fish cakes, seared salmon, seared scallops, seared salmon belly, potato croquettes, black sesame ice-cream, black sesame creme caramel, fried red bean cake

How I felt:

I obviously didn’t Dukan today. My favorite bum chum is in town and it’s the last time we’ll see each other before I head to the UK on a 15 month stint working holiday! Peking duck is on the cards for the weekend, I’m not expecting weight loss…just hoping for a quiet gain…

Breakfast: 300g rare steak….think I only stomached 200 or so grams though…bit too bloody for breakfast, I started smelling like blood

Morning Tea: Black Coffee, Oat bran Porridge (made with water), Laughing Cow cheese

Lunch: 4 Nando’s BBQ chicken thighs with a fried egg

Afternoon Tea: 2 Vietnamese meatballs

Dinner: stir fried beef marinated in Vietnamese Bacon seasoning

How I felt:

Pretty good today mood wise! No headaches either but I felt like passing out at about 2:30 but I also didn’t get much sleep last night.

I feel very tired right now, did lots of running around (errands) after work and I pretty much just got home and it’s 10:22pm. Need some sleep methinks.

Sorry I don’t have anything sarcastic to report…

Today’s Food:

Breakfast: Oat bran Porridge (made with water)

Morning Tea: Black Coffee, 2 caramel fudge, Laughing Cow cheese

Lunch: Quarter Roast chicken, 2 Vietnamese meatballs

Afternoon Tea:  Chocolate chip cookie, 4 fish tofu, 2 pork balls

Dinner: 2 soft shelled crabs, fish cakes, crab claws, spicy calamari with some Japanese mayo, black sesame ice-cream

How I felt:

So…yeah, I didn’t do that well on Day 4…no carbs…but lots of sugary things.

Quite amazed by my 900g weight loss though! I’ll try better on Day 5!!

Dukan Diet V2 Day 3

Total weight loss: 0.5kg

Exercise: 30 minute brisk walk

Today’s Food:

Breakfast: Oat bran Porridge (made with water)

Morning Tea: Nut bar, 1 fish cake, 2 fish tofu (I also cheated with  a cube of caramel fudge)

Lunch: half a roast chicken, skin removed

Afternoon Tea:  black coffee, 1 fish cake, 1 fish tofu, 1 laughing cow cheese

Dinner: some Vietnamese pork balls and some roast chicken breast

***EDIT: I ate about 5 giant triple chocolate chip cookes…delicious but lethal.  Excuse me while I fall into a food coma.  I feel guilty. 😦 ***

How I felt:

Wow…headaches today.

I think the sugar withdrawals has hit me hard today…I don’t think is lack of water or anything like that because I drink plenty of water…and it just reminds me of my sugar/caffeine headaches.  I did feel a bit phased out at one point this afternoon, but I think that might be the fact that I didn’t have coffee all day until like 3 in the afternoon.  I hope that means I can sleep tonight.

I’m a bit disappointed with my weight loss to be honest.  Granted I did eat a lot of fried foods in the last few days…but 100 grams??!!

I did feel very energetic in my walking today, which I would like to attribute to my Vibrams, I got a new pair on the weekend:

Vibram Five Fingers! Love them!

I’m hoping tomorrow gives me some good numbers!!

Day 2 on the Dukan Diet Version 2

Breakfast: Oat bran Porridge (made with water), black Coffee

Morning Tea: Nut bar (1 Nut bar left in my drawer), a Thai fishcake, some chicken strips with curry sauce

Lunch: a plate of salt and pepper squid – very average

Afternoon Tea: Big handful of Pistachio nuts, two Thai fishcakes, some MORE chicken strips with curry sauce

Dinner: Some MORE Chicken strips with a bit of chilli sauce


How I felt:

I actually felt horrible today…and it had nothing to do with the diet.

I have talked about being allergic to wheat…and it affected me in full force today.  On my weekend away, I indulged on everything I wanted, donuts, cookies, dumplings, noodles, breads…and I paid for it today.  My skin felt like it was crawling, my face was itchy and dry, my eyes were swollen and flakey, a bit crepey too…and my mouth was like a cave of ulcers.  At around 10 the corner of my mouth sprouted with clusters of cold sores which just progressively got worse throughout the day (despite me putting a patch on it).

So, a friend asked if I got ulcers from eating wheat and I’ve never thought of that before.  My known wheat side affects are stomach ache, nausea, diarrhea, lethargy, rash, itchiness, nose bleeds, stomach bleeds…but ulcers? I haven’t made that connection before…so I Googled it and yep. Ulcers are a symptoms for those who are allergic to wheat.  And it makes sense now, last time I got ulcers and felt deathly ill was when I came back from my holiday in Thailand where…you guessed it, I indulged on lost of bready stuff.

Anyways, I know that me feeling run down, sore throat and feeling overly disgusting was due to my wheat allergic rather than the diet.

I had a loss of 400 grams. Really nothing to write home about.

I don’t think I’ll lose much weight tomorrow given how much ‘bad’ foods I had but we’ll see what happens…
