Salmon Fritatta

I made this today (I’m on day 4 on the Dukan Diet and I’ve lost 1.4kg) – I had smoked salmon, and eggs, so decided to make this.  This recipe is allowed in all stages in the Dukan Diet.

The good thing about this fritatta is that it’s quite light (made with no fats or butters) and I didn’t add any salt – I like my food well seasoned and this seriously did not need it.  It tasted really great too! You can easily serve this to people who aren’t dieting with a side salad or maybe some potatoes, they wouldn’t even notice.

I tend not to measure anything so all measurements for ingredients are approximate.


5 eggs

2-3 tablespoons of light cottage cheese

2 tablespoons of skim milk powder

1/2 cup of hot water (not boiling)

1 package of Smoked Salmon (I can’t remember the weight…maybe 50g?)

4 or so of spring onion, chopped into 4 cm lengths



Mix the cottage cheese, skim milk powder and water together until there are no pockets of skim milk powder.  Once missed, add all the ingredients together and stir.

Line an oven safe dish or a pan with baking paper so that you don’t need to use oil.  In my case, I used a nonstick saucepan and wrapped foil around the handle so I can shove it in the oven.

Pour mixture in and bake in 180 degree oven until lightly brown on top.





Dukan Diary: Day 8 and what I’ve been eating

Starting weight: 83.8kg (184.4lbs)

Today’s weight: 80.4g (176.9 lbs)

Today’s weight loss: 0.5kg

Total weight loss: 3.4kg (7.5lbs)

Exercise: 40 minutes Body Combat class – first time ever, thought I was going to vomit!

So, weight loss today! Woo hoo! half a kilo, not bad.  So after a week and a day, I’ve nearly lost 3.5kg! I really can’t wait to get below that 80kg mark.

Whenever I get over that 80kg threshold, I don’t know why…I just seem to not be able to get under it and then I just gain and gain and gain…so I’m only half a kilo off, so I’m hoping I can smash it today.

I keep saying that I haven’t been hungry but I don’t talk about what I eat, and honestly, I’m amazed that I register weightloss with the amount of food I eat! I think next week, for a whole week, I’m going to document everything I eat, so that you can see the portion size too.

Here’s what I’ve been eating yesterday and today:


Oatbran, Chicken pieces (thighs), yoghurt, more chicken pieces, hot chocolate, Egg salad, lots of water, lots of teas, a coffee, a coke zero, and a square of chocolate


Oatbran, a bunch of asparagus tips, Broccoli soup, Cauliflower Cottage Pie with cheese, coke zero, 1 Rolo, a prawn cocktail, 2 fillets of salmon (with sweet soy), another bunch of asparagus, tea, coffee and a huge mug of hot chocolate (options)

Today’s Food


About 2 home made Zucchini frittata.

Recipe: 8 eggs, 1 cup of extra light sour cream (whisk these two together), 2 large grated Zuchinni, 100g of diced ham or bacon, 1 onion, half a cup of extra light cheese, 2 – 3 tablespoons of parmesan. Mix together, put in muffin tins and bake in a 200c oven for about 15 – 20 minutes, you’ll get about 24.

I also had a cafe breakfast of fishcakes and poached eggs and a few bites of my sister’s potato gallette (absolutely devine) – I skipped the toasts and gave them to my nieces.

McDonald’s $5 Meal – Medium Coke Zero, A cheeseburger with extra tomato sauce, Medium fries and a Caramel Sundae

1 zucchini frittata


2 Thai fishcakes, 2 fish tofu, 2 Zucchini frittata, 6 squares of white chocolate, sugared peanuts

How I felt

I know, I know, I know, I don’t know what to say.  I will walk to work tomorrow…I’m just finding it hard to stay on track, I don’t know why?

Today’s Food:

Breakfast: Oat bran Porridge (made with water), fishcakes with dill cream and poached eggs, mocha

Lunch: 6 macarons (friend brought them from Melbourne for me

Dinner: 2 soft shelled crabs, fish cakes, seared salmon, seared scallops, seared salmon belly, potato croquettes, black sesame ice-cream, black sesame creme caramel, fried red bean cake

How I felt:

I obviously didn’t Dukan today. My favorite bum chum is in town and it’s the last time we’ll see each other before I head to the UK on a 15 month stint working holiday! Peking duck is on the cards for the weekend, I’m not expecting weight loss…just hoping for a quiet gain…

Today’s Food:

Breakfast: 300g rare steak….think I only stomached 200 or so grams though…bit too bloody for breakfast, I started smelling like blood

Morning Tea: Black Coffee, Oat bran Porridge (made with water), Laughing Cow cheese

Lunch: 4 Nando’s BBQ chicken thighs with a fried egg

Afternoon Tea: 2 Vietnamese meatballs

Dinner: stir fried beef marinated in Vietnamese Bacon seasoning

How I felt:

Pretty good today mood wise! No headaches either but I felt like passing out at about 2:30 but I also didn’t get much sleep last night.

I feel very tired right now, did lots of running around (errands) after work and I pretty much just got home and it’s 10:22pm. Need some sleep methinks.

Sorry I don’t have anything sarcastic to report…

Today’s Food:

Breakfast: Oat bran Porridge (made with water)

Morning Tea: Black Coffee, 2 caramel fudge, Laughing Cow cheese

Lunch: Quarter Roast chicken, 2 Vietnamese meatballs

Afternoon Tea:  Chocolate chip cookie, 4 fish tofu, 2 pork balls

Dinner: 2 soft shelled crabs, fish cakes, crab claws, spicy calamari with some Japanese mayo, black sesame ice-cream

How I felt:

So…yeah, I didn’t do that well on Day 4…no carbs…but lots of sugary things.

Quite amazed by my 900g weight loss though! I’ll try better on Day 5!!
