Dukan Diet Diary: Day 5 – Attack Phase

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , on August 20, 2011 by Dobsessed

Starting weight: 83.8kg (184.4lbs)

Today’s weight: 80.7g (177.5 lbs)

Today’s weight loss 0.9kg

Total weight loss: 3.1kg

Exercise: 25 minute cardio at the gym – I’m working on working out longer!

Today’s Food:

2 soft boiled eggs with furikake, 5 cups of tea, 1 cup of coffee, chicken brenton, coconut muller light, coke zero, turkey meatballs with mozerella cheese and a fried egg, Options hot chocolate

I actually brought the turkey meatballs as my afternoon snack but I was so full from lunch that I didn’t feel like it. The carb cravings are starting to subside, my headaches are still hanging around though. I do feel like I have way more energy and I’m not in a carb induced slump on the tube home after work…it’s all going quite well.

Can you believe I’ve lost 3.1kg in 5 days??? Really, it’s 4 full days…but I just think the results are amazing.  Even if it IS water weight – water weight still makes you look fat and bloated!

Tomorrow I start eating vegetables…so I guess it’ll be the end of such awesome results…

Dukan Diet Diary: Day 4 – Attack Phase

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , on August 19, 2011 by Dobsessed

Starting weight: 83.8kg (184.4lbs)

Today’s weight: 81.6kg (179.5 lbs)

Today’s weight loss 0.3kg

Total weight loss: 2.2kg

Exercise: 45 minute Body Balance Class

Today’s Food:

Oatbran Porridge, 4 extra lean bacon, 5 cups of tea, 1 cup of coffee, 2 tubs of Muller Light yoghurt (Vanilla and Strawberry), Coke zero, 600g – 700g of Roast Pork, 1 200g piece of Angus Rump Steak with caramelised onion, huge mug of Options Hot Chocolate

I went to bed feeling like an absolute, total pig yesterday…I ate pork cracking the size of Russia, and after I ate that, I had a HUGE mug of hot chocolate (similar to the ones I’m having now).

They’re pretty tasty considering they’re very low in fat, 1 cup contains less than 1 g of fat, less than 6g of Carbohydrates and les than 40 calories.

It really takes the edge of my carb/sugar cravings and there were many today…I was getting serious headaches.  Overall though, I’m feeling really good. I feel like I have more energy, I’m not always STARVING and I just feel better in general.

My plumbing seems to be in good working order too…so I can’t wait to bring out the tape measure and do a measure and see how many centimetres I’ve lost!

Dukan Diet Diary: Day 3 – Attack Phase

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , on August 18, 2011 by Dobsessed

Today’s weight: 81.9 (180.2 lbs)

Today’s weight loss 0.6kg

Total weight loss: 1.9kg

Exercise: Cardio at the gym for 25 minutes

Today’s Food:

3 extra lean bacon, 2 eggs, 6 or 7 cups of tea, 1 cup of coffee, 180g of Turkey meatballs, 8 mini marinated chicken breasts (sooo dry – I’m going for thighs next time), Muller Light Vanilla, Coke zero, Pork Crackling and a generous slice of roast pork.

So I’m not following the Dukan diet to the einth degree…after all, I know that pork and bacon aren’t allowed on the Dukan, but if I restrict myself too much, and don’t have the variety, I won’t end up sticking to it.  So, I may lose weight FASTER if I were to follow it completely, but I may also quit within a week.  Right now, I’m  happy with how I’m going.

I’m pretty happy with my weight loss too! 1.9 kg after 2 full days on the Dukan Diet, and I haven’t been hungry at all..the sugar cravings has been getting to me but I’ve been drinking tea and coke Zeros to counter that.

I’m also thinking of trying out some Diabetic ice-cream (same fat/sugar content as yoghurt) when I have major cravings…but I don’t know if that’s safe to have in the hosue considering I tend to eat a whole tub of ice-cream in one sitting.  I’m not even exaggerating. With. Peanut butter!

What do you think?

Oh yeah, I also bought Miracle Noodles, which are noodles made out of Konjaku (a plant/root thing from Japan) – I’ve only had it in Japan and wasn’t the biggest fan, so I’m curious to see how this works.  Pretty pricey though, £25 for a pack of 10. Hope they’re worth…I have read a lot of great reviews so I’m hopeful

So, isn’t it amazing…after only 2 days of the Dukan Diet, I’m showcasing some great results!

Pudgy from a number of Heathrow Injections

Oh hello there!!

I’ve been neglecting this blog like I’ve been neglecting my diet…that is to day.  I haven’t been dieting at all.  In fact, I’ve been eating like I’m hibernating for winter…but really it’s just a whole bunch of excuses, which are…

I moved to London, Uk in April this year (2011) and before I left, I had many, many, many celebratory meals…and quit personal training so that I could save money.  My weight ballooned.

Once I got to the UK, I was amazed by the variety of cheap food around! And they’re everywhere and as a food lover in a new city, I felt that it was my duty to try everything.  Everything in site.

I’ve also grown very attached to the afternoon teas here.  Would you believe that before I moved here, I’ve NEVER, ever had a scone? It just never seemed that appealing to me.  Give me a crusty croissant any day of the week! However…since I’ve been here…I’ve been converted.  I LOVE Scones…and…Oh my god, I LOVE CLOTTED CREAM!

Which brings me to now.  I weigh the heaviest that I’ve weiged in the last 7 years.  I’m carrying roughly 20+kg more weight on me than I did for the 5 out of those 7 years.  I can no longer tell myself that the cut of the clothing are smaller compared to Australia.  I can no longer hide from the fat girl in the mirror…so here I am, all laid bare, ready for the critcism and ready to try again.

I’ve actually started taken pictures of myself in my underwear, and it was quite shocking, I never tend to look at myself in the mirror from behind, but the rolls and my dimply legs really gave me a fright.  Which has spurred me to start losing weight.  I will be taking weekly pictures of myself, but I probably won’t post them unless I start to see results.

I’ve joined a gym, and in the last 3 weeks since I’ve joined, I’ve gone an average of about 3 times a week.  I don’t stay long though…but I’m working on that.

This week, I also restarted the Dukan.

I wasn’t properly prepared so didn’t have enough proteins in the house and just ended up eating bolognaise (without pasta) and eggs all day.

Hardest is definitely the carb cravings and the sugar withdrawals.  I’m definitely not over them.  It’s amazing how these get a hold of you.  I was sitting in bed and going through a whole tub of Haagen Dazs a night (with lashings of peanut butter) 5 times a week.  No wonder the weight piled on. I’m getting headaches…but I’m sticking with it (even if it only is day two)…

So here are the numbers:

Start date: 15/08/11

Weight: 83.8kg (185 lbs) – Holy CANNOLI – it’s really worse than I thought

Clothing size: 16, sometimes 18 pants

Goal Weight: 60kg (132lbs) – that still sounds pretty fat, but for me, that’s enough, I mean, ideally, I’d love to be 55kg (120lbs) but I think I weighed that when I was 12.

Cookie Monster

I should be given like an award or something…definitely a mention in the paper, a prize? I’d be happy with a prize.

Tomorrow, it’s my turn to bring morning tea at work. Now, before I became a Dukaneer, I was a keen baker (enjoy cooking but LOVE baking – LOVE, LOVE, LOVE eating). Rather than buy a packet of Tim Tams, I thought I’d reconnect with my past love and bake.

I went all out.

I made the most indulgent double chocolate cookies (cocoa, 1/2 a kilo of dark chocolate for 12 fat cookies!!), so rich with cocoa (though not too sweet) and you know what…after I baked them, fresh from the oven, I ate a pea sized crumb (to check the flavour) and left the rest. They were DELICIOUS.

Seriously…it would have been so easy to just eat them too, the cookies were right there! I was home alone, one lone cookie didn’t fit into the container! But no…I resisted. And I said no..

I think I deserve an award.

Here’s a preview…

Days 22, 23, 24, 25 on the Dukan Diet (Wk 4)

Posted in Dukan Diet, What I ate with tags , , on August 18, 2010 by Dobsessed

I have felt extremely tired EVERY single day so far this week.

Day 22 – PP – 72.5kg (gained 0.5kg)
Day 23 – PV – 72.5kg
I had wine and ate coconut rice, chicken satays and peanut sauce, Thai chicken salad and sweet and sour pork for dinner…*sigh*

Day 24 – PP – 72kg (loss 0.5kg)
Day 22 and Day 23 entries went missing…seems to happen sometimes when I use the WordPress App on my iphone/ipad…I don’t know why…but it’s happened 4 times…but there’s no pattern for when they decide to go missing…it just does when it feels like it. Annoying.

I was really lacking in energy today…felt horribly drained and I don’t know if it was my diet or not. Today I had oat bran porridge and 2 soy lattes (I’m lactose intolerant – especially in milk, so I have to have soy), had a wedge of Laughing Cow light, turkey meatballs, a (NON-Dukan friendly) chicken strip, some fatty, yucky chicken kebab from a carvery. I think the Chicken strip is made with lots of flour, cos that probably explains why I felt so lethargic and I didn’t have any appetite for dinner. Ended up eating a Skinny Cow chocolate ice block and 1 boiled egg. Will I lose weight this week?

Day 25 – PV – 71.5kg (total weight loss 5kg) – 2 hours of exercise (1.5 hour walk – split up into 30 minute slots and 30 minutes of Personal Training)

I nearly lost my resolve today.  The day started normal enough with oat bran porridge and a coffee.  Got to work and at about 10 or so, had my Dukan friendly Zuchinni Slice.  Lunch was very ordinary.  We went to a nice place for lunch for a colleague’s farewell, but it was Italian…and not one that sells veal escallops either.  I ended up getting a tuna, egg, olive salad with added chicken and it was so unappetizing that I left most of it.  I was starving and hanging for a frozen yogurt, but Yogen Fruz has closed down!! So I just had a wedge of Laughing Cow.  I had a brutal personal training session…and made the questionable decision to still walk home and was feeling particularly drained by the time I got home.  Couldn’t be bothered cooking so got half a roast chicken.  No matter how hungry I am, I just can’t seem to stomach DRY chicken!!!! I hate the stringy threads! I felt like going for the Mi Goreng in the pantry I was so frustrated.  I ended up driving to the shops and getting an extra LARGE low-fat frozen yoghurt.  Probably has WAY too much sugar content…but I really needed it…it was the only thing stopping me from dialing a pizza. 😦
